Well, it was bound to happen. Mike Allred loved our post on “The Spook” so much he did a tribute page for our humble website. Unfortunately, Mike messed up and drew in “Batman” instead of “Comics.” We still give him a B- for effort. We’re waiting for your follow-up, Mike, and hope that you’ll remember next time that … Comics A-Go-Go!
And since we’re on the subject, the International Court 0f Justice in The Hague is finally hearing the lawsuit by an Iranian business firm against an American company that the Iranians claim stole their business secrets and brand. In a rare case of reverse piracy, Americans have found themselves on the wrong end of the stick. The Tabriz-based, Ayatollahs Five, Inc., filed the claim years ago and have watched in dismay as the suit languished in the moribund court while [or as our British readers prefer: “whilst” (see, we can be inclusive)] Five Guys Holdings, LLC blew the doors off the staid old “burgers ‘n’ fries” eateries (‘cuz we all know there are so many different ways to reinvent that old song and dance … uh, huh). It’s unclear how this will play out, but needless to say, the recent Iranian nuclear tomfoolery will most likely bias the court (… if it’s needless to say, then why did we? – what a stupid expression).
