A large portion of our collection has decided to move out of the house and strike out on its own. Indubitably, some of the comics will seek new homes where a safety net of suffocating love will keep them stored away in plastic until their natural acids digest them from the inside out (or outside in – it doesn’t really matter). Others will desire a bit more adventure and will seek shelter in homes where the masters let them stretch their legs a bit, giving them at least enough attention to show that they have value beyond whatever a price guide may say. Still others may naïvely expect respite or innocent fun but instead will find themselves in nefarious company with those disinterested in their well-being. This saddens us. As with any parent, we care deeply for the children we cast out upon the waves to venture forth and make their own way in life. The bittersweet separation is filled at the same time with pride and anticipation, but also with fear and dread. What will the world expect of them? Will there be those that will mentor and nurture them through their adulthood? Will their caretakers dedicate more than a passing glance? Will they be able to rely on Social Security and Medicare in their old age?
Nonetheless, we are resolved. Some must go if there is to be a home for those that are now seeking our embrace. Hence, the list of items for which we have interest is presented to you. The hope is that you, oh beloved reader, will discover some nuggets of joy in our mine of comics that engenders a desire to transition some of ours for some of yours. Guidelines: we are not interested in a lop-sided transaction. As a general rule, an assumed market value either by price guide or experience should at least establish some element of parity.
Interested but not sure about expectations for a successful trade? Make an offer. At the least, we can negotiate. Onward to the Post!
